【报告人简介】

宋阳波，现任香港中文大学（深圳）经管学院助理教授，博士毕业于加州大学洛杉矶分校经济学系。他的主要研究方向为博弈论、信息经济学、网络经济学等。相关研究成果见于Journal of Economic Theory, Games and Economic Behavior, Economic Theory, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization等国际知名经济学期刊。曾主持一项国家自科基金青年项目，并参与国家自科重大项目、广东省基础与应用基础研究基金项目等。

【摘要】

The paper studies information aggregation via informed and competing key opinion leaders (KOLs). The KOLs have private information about a common hidden state, and they choose actions strategically to match the state as well as attract followers from the mass public, who are ex-ante uninformed but can learn through observation. I show that incentives among KOLs to disagree with one another, in order to stand out in competition, may actually hurt rather than help information aggregation. Meanwhile, the overall learning precision is characterized by a novel condition about the hazard-rate ratio in private signals. In a richer strategic context, comparative statics indicate that learning is improved by restricting observation, and a manipulative regime benefits from funding its opposition.
